The STEPS program offers students the opportunity to conduct a research project, the theme of which is decided annually by the STEPS Scientific Advisory Board, focused on real-world data, while receiving industry-relevant training and mentorship from the dedicated STEPS team.
The STEPS “learning while doing” ethos enables and encourages deep engagement with Landmark software, products, and knowledge base. In addition, this program “trains the trainer,” providing support and resources to academic supervisors and technical support staff. To encourage interaction with the wider Exploration and Production community, STEPS hosts an annual Distinguished Lecture Series, the theme of which is in keeping with the annual research theme.
The STEPS program is currently aimed at students working on their Master's thesis, but the long-term goal is to facilitate doctoral and postdoctoral research, as well as integrated internships, as part of multi-year thematic research initiatives.
The growth of a collaborative research network is one of the key STEPS objectives. We actively welcome and encourage participation from industry representatives and academics and facilitate regular, meaningful contact between them and the student. Our Distinguished Lectures are also a great place for industry representatives, academics, and students to network and discuss the hot topics related to our annual research theme.
