The XR Prime reamer hole enlargement tool uses the reliable and proven platform of the XR Reamer™, with improved cutting structure and stability for small hole opening ratios in extreme applications. The reamer provides concentric and simultaneous hole enlargement with on-demand activation/deactivation systems where tool reliability, durability, and hole quality of the enlarged hole are important.
The XR Prime reamer can be deactivated after enlarging the original pilot hole size, so that drilling can continue. The reamer also allows full flow circulation while tripping out, as it can be deactivated and will remain dormant during tripout. The XR Prime reamer minimizes bottomhole assembly (BHA) vibration, macro doglegs at formation transition interfaces, and the tendency to initiate whirl.
